Quick Take:  We will hop a train with all of our kayaks, canoes and gear. We will paddle the Agawa River located in Ontario, Canada. We will camp on the river banks and alongside Lake Superior.  We will hike up a waterfall.  We will eat, sleep, and breathe the great outdoors and all that the Canadian backcountry has to offer. On this trip, you will enjoy some of the most incredible scenery, paddle some amazing whitewater, and enjoy it all in good company with gourmet style meals! This adventure will span 5 days and we will travel nearly a thousand miles. The trip begins in downtown Newaygo, MI. From that point, all transportation (including train ticket), all meals, all camping fees, all permit fees, all guide fees, and written instructions on how to prepare and what to pack will be included in your price.

DETAILS: We will depart from the parking lot behind 37 North (located at 27 State Road, Downtown Newaygo, MI) around Noon on Wednesday, May 14th. (Please arrive by 11:00am to load up your gear.) Once we are loaded up, we will head north for Canada.  A PASSPORT OR ENHANCED ID IS REQUIRED.  You will want to eat before arriving Wednesday (or bring a lunch for the road) as we will not stop for food until dinner. Once we reach Canada, we will stay overnight at a hotel in Sault Ste Marie. An allowance for dinner is budgeted in. Thursday morning, a light continental breakfast will be served. We will then load all of our boats and gear onto the train at the Sault. After the train has been loaded, we will take a two hour drive north to where we spot the cars. We will be stopping for brunch along this drive, which of is an optional cost. We will spot the cars and then hop aboard the train around 1:00pm. (we will eat lunch while waiting for the train). After a 45 minute train ride, we will set up camp for the night.

The next morning after breakfast, we should be on the river by around 10:00am. We will hit some good rapids, have lunch on the river, and pull off the river around 5:00 pm. Dinner will be provided at the "Island" campsite. In the morning, you will awake to pancakes and bacon before we hit the river. There will be a full day of paddling on Saturday, and lunch is provided on the river. We will pull off the river around 4:00pm, load up the gear and boats, and head to our campsite at Pancake Bay, on Lake Superior. After a trip to the Indian Outpost, and possibly a nap, a steak dinner awaits for dinner. There will be optional paddling on Lake Superior that evening, depending on the weather and time of arrival. On Sunday morning, we will break camp, have breakfast, and begin the dreary trek back home. We should arrive back in Newaygo by 4:00pm on Sunday the 18th.
